Lakeside Green Streets. Latest Measure DD project is a 14 acre complete green streets project to facilitate pedestrian and bicycle use, calm traffic, increase parklands, improve Snow Park, and improve water quality. Construction scheduled to be completed Spring 2019. Visit Green Streets

Merritt Slackers meet up Saturdays at the Embarcadero. Popular carnival-like activity of slack-lining, acro-yoga and juggling is an informal get-together welcoming everyone to participate.
Lake Merritt Joggers & Striders, the oldest running club of the East Bay, founded in 1977, sponsors a 4th Sunday race each month at 9:00 a.m. Runners and volunteers welcomed. Meet near the Sailboat House in Lakeside Park. Info at LMJS. March 26.

Volunteers There are many opportunities for volunteering with groups or independently. Lake Merritt Institute needs lake clean up volunteers Tuesdays at 10:30 and Saturdays at 10 a.m.. LM Weed Warriors need volunteers on the last Saturday of each month. LM Joggers and Striders needs volunteers on race day, the fourth Sunday of each month.
